Major Russian Strikes Eliminate Power Across Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
The country's power facilities have come under increased strikes in recent weeks

Overnight, Moscow's aerial assaults have caused power cuts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were wounded while inhabitants in eastern neighborhoods were left without electricity and encountered interruptions to water supplies, according to local authorities.

At the same time, a minor was lost their life in a different aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, based on information from area administrators.

Moscow has intensified assaults on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while the country's government has demanded "substantial measures" from international partners to increase pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not symbolic gestures but strong steps - from the United States, the EU and the Group of Seven - in delivering air defence systems and enforcing penalties," he wrote in a social media post.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and over thirty rockets struck the country's power systems, describing such attacks as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as winter approaches.

Government representatives said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and technical staff were striving to fix the damage.

A barrage of missiles hit power facilities and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Multiple people hurt in the assaults on the capital have been transported for medical care, according to municipal representatives.

Local officials said the urban area experienced heavy assaults throughout the evening. A minor died and three other people were hurt.

The strikes follow periods of air raids in the region, parts of which remain under the control of invading troops.

The entire country is under warning for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are more difficult to detect.

National leaders told reporters that Russia was deliberately attempting to damage the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already affecting energy systems.

He said technical personnel and officials were bracing for more assaults.
